Much of the work of NCTA is carried out by Committees organized into Divisions. Each Division is organized around a central mission and led by a Division Head. The Head of the Division oversees and assists the Division Committees in their work and reports to the Governing Board regarding the work in the Division.

Administration
The Administration Division encompasses the administrative areas of the organization, including Archives, Awards and Recognition, and Volunteer Services.

The Annual Conference Division coordinates the various aspects of the annual conference, working with the Conference Host Committee.

The Communications Division manages the various avenues of communication used by NCTA, including the Newsletter, Website, Mailing List, Editing, and Social Networks.

Finance
The Finance Division is charged with the financial management and reporting for the organization. The NCTA Treasurer serves as the Division Head, with assistance from the Comptroller. The Grants Committee and the Sponsorship Committee are also housed in the Finance Division.

Membership Services
Headed up by the Membership Chair, the Membership Services Division manages services and benefits for the members of NCTA.

Outreach
The work of the Outreach Division includes efforts to expand the membership of the organization, to develop professional promotional materials, and to explore relationships with other professional organizations. The division includes the Marketing Committee, the Recruitment Committee and State and Regional Organization (SRO) Committee.

Professional Development
The Professional Development Division houses the Test Center Certification Committee and other groups working to provide professional development opportunities to the membership and explore avenues to increase professionalism in testing.
